Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He was one of the members of One Direction. Born at Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England, on 1 February 1994, he is the son of Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. There as well as three of his classmates, he formed his own group, White Eskimo. They won the 2009 Battle of Bands thanks to the impressive presentation they made. He always showed an interest in music. However, he was enthused to be an attorney or a physical therapist. Working part-time in a local bakery was his first job to make money for his family. The year was 2010. Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he sang Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. This was the reason that his band broke up. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles that he join of a new band called One Direction. The other band members included Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in 2010. The group performed hits such as My Life Would Suffer Without You, by Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. This made the group one of the potential winners for the prize. The band was in the third place after Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle which won. Harry Styles, his group as well as Cowell were not able to win the competition. However, Cowell gave Harry Styles a 2 million pounds contract with Syco.
